The historic city of Saint Augustine will officially launch its’ holiday season tonight during the opening of the Annual Nights of Lights display along the bayfront. Imagine the effect of over 3 million tiny white lights twinkling in the night illuminating the entire downtown area including the Plaza, the Bridge of Lions, the City Hall building and gardens.
It is an amazing site that was created in honor of the classic Spanish tradition of burning a single white candle in the window during the holiday season. The lights decorate the downtown area from November 17th through January and you can enjoy tours by trolley, horse drawn carriage, a cruise along the bayfront… or just take a stroll among the lights. Last year, National Geographic declared the Nights of Lights in Saint Augustine to be one of the top ten places in the world to view holiday lights! Check out the amazing photographs at http://www.nightsoflights.com.
